JERRY AT AIRPORT SOMEPLACE

Wednesday, August 17, 2022 Sunny, Slight breeze Warm 82 Degrees 4:10 p.m.

A very good day. The housekeeper came and cleaned the house. So nice to have her and she does a wonderful job. I love having the glass screen doors sparkling clean without kitty nose prints on them. I know that won’t last long but I do enjoy it while it lasts.

I did a lot of pick up and put away, hung a couple of plaques in the kitchen that have been waiting to be hung for a month or more. Put a couple vases up on the top shelf in the kitchen and things like that. I usually takes me a while to figure out just where they should go. So what is two years?…

Both cats hide when Amy comes with her cleaning gear. Where they hide I have no clue as once she gets in the door, they are gone and don’t come out until she has driven off. I thought that maybe I had locked them in a closet so went upstairs and opened all the closet doors, leaving them open just in case. Then did the same downstairs. Once Amy drove off, Sierra appeared out of nowhere. Then Milo appeared out of nowhere. It is so strange. I didn’t see either of them emerge from anyplace. They were “just here”. So once among the present, they required petting and treats. They are now snoozing, enjoying their afternoon siesta.

WE have Kenny coming over this evening to check the light in Tina’s bathroom. It is blinking and that is not a good sign. I hope it is just a bad light bulb, but since it is both light bulbs, I will hope that it is just two bad light bulbs. But…………..?

The weatherman said that the Southwest is still having flooding conditions and also it is in triple digits there. It is August and the Southwest is always in the 90’s and 100’s this time of year. I am sure they are thankful for the rain but would probably like it covering more days and not all at once in an hour or two. I feel so bad that they are in a drought. Lake Powell is dried up as is Lake Lahonton (sp), and Lake Mead is down so low that it will shortly effect Hover Dam. That is scary. That is the electric source for many people. The Colorado River effect many states and ranches and farm as well as towns and cities. And forests and animals. The whole length of the river is terribly low.

Have a great rest of your Wednesday. Make it a caring, crafting, comfy, and fun day.

Tuesday, August 16, 2022 Cloudy Breezy Warm 79 Degrees 5:09 p.m.

a beautiful, cloudy day in Oak Ridge. We had a brief shower and that is the rain for the day. They did say spotty showers and it was as spot. Not much and not everywhere. Just perfect.

Today we went to Habitat for Humanity and dropped off some stuff we cleaned out of the shed yesterday. Then proceeded to Dottie’s to take her the plastic bins. it was fun visiting with her and Max, and enjoying lunch. Max likes chicken, was snuggled up to Tina as he was mad at Dottie because she gave him a bath, trimmed his fur and cut his nails. It was funny as normally he has to be right up close to Dottie. It was a fun afternoon.

Last evening Pamela came over and we played Yahtzee. The three of us. We each got Yahtzee’s and won a game or two. It was a fun evening. After she left Tina and I watched a couple of our recorded programs. It is nice to catch up on all of those.

Tina has morning shift for the next five day, so it is up way to early and bed early. she will have to be the one to get up and leave before the sun even thinks about rising. I will probably keep the normal schedule but instead of watching TV I will read. It will be nice to sit quietly and read. I hope the cats will agree to that.

Today’s quote: “Amazing! If you hang something in a closet for a while it shrinks two sizes. My calendar.

Have a great rest of you day. Make it a calm, relaxing, inspirational, and fun one.

Monday, August 15, 2022 Partly sunny, Breezy A bit humid, 84 Degrees 3:29 p.m.

Sierra after a trip to the spa

Today is Monday and the month of August is half over. this month has sure gone fast, as has the year so far. Las Saturday my grandson turned 29 year old. The Saturday before my youngest granddaughter turned 29 years old. It seems like just yesterday they were just youngsters running around and playing hide and seek, marbles, dolls, etc and their biggest care in the whole world was having to go to bed so early. Happy Birthday Kara Walters and Miles Walters.

The weekend was busy. Saturday I went with Tammy to Dottie’s and we shucked corn. Six dozen. They ended up in the freezer. It was fun chatting and working together. Prior to arriving at Dottie’s Tammy picked me up and took me with her to pick up the corn. That was fun as I got to see parts of this area that I had no clue existed. So many beautiful areas and interesting areas. I also got to meet her cousins in one town and her brother and his wife in another town. One town is Halls and the other is Powell. we were either in Haskell or went through it. I am not sure. It sure was a fun and enjoyable day.

Sunday was quiet. We got up at 4:30 so we could watch Charles Stanley at 5:00 a.m. He is so good. Then Tina wen to work and I watched Hope in the Wild and a couple other shows that come on early. After the “infa-mercial”came on I had breakfast. I spent the rest of the day reading and working some on the computer. TV in the evening. We watched one of our taped shows, PASSWORD. It is great, funny and entertaining. If you haven’t seen it you should check it out. We also watched the finally of the Ugliest house in America. That was pretty good.

Today we cleaned out the shed, or at least half of the shed and got 5 or 6 plastic totes for Dottie. We also got a bunch of stuff to take to Habitate for Humanity which we will do tomorrow. A day well spent, I think. Now am getting ready for Pamela to arrive and play some games.

Quote of the day: Whatever you and your house are like–whether your housekeeping system is the casual stow- and- slam method or the super organized home where even the dustballs line up evenly under the bed, the most important thing to fill your home with is joy. What a blessing to step inside a home and immediately feel surrounded by a bubble of laughter and a blanket of love.

Have a great rest of your Monday and make it prosperous, pleasant, profitable and fun.

Blessings!

THIS IS SIERRA BEFORE THE SPA VISIT,

Friday, August 12, 2022 Sunny Still, Beautiful 82 Degrees 7:22 p.m.

I am sorry that this is late today. It has been a busy day and evening so far. I think things have calmed down and I can get this done and posted quickly.

The above picture is of Sierra. she doesn’t look that way now. She went to the vet today and got shaved. Her fur was knotting so bad and was painful to her so we decided to have her shaved. She seems quite happy with the results, probably the loss of the pain, and even looked at herself in the mirror. Milo, however, isn’t quite sure who this strange cat is as he doesn’t recognizer her. He wollered at her and his tail got big and his back arched. She growled at his. He is not quite convinced yet and she thinks he is making fun of her so she is still growling at him. I hope that they get along through the night. And I hope that they get acclimated quickly and back to being friends. Maybe she is embarrassed. I don’t know but that is a possibility. Her face, legs and tail look the same. The rest of her body is a grayish white. I wonder how long it will take for the fur to grow back? You can see her on Instagram and Facebook.

While she was gone we cleaned house. Dusted, vacuumed and all that sort of stuff. I have a bit more to do but that will have to wait. Tomorrow Tammy is coming to pick me up and we are going to Dottie’s to shuck corn for freezing. I haven’t done that for a few years so it should be fun. Tina would join us but she has to work. Tomorrow is her 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. day. It sure messes up the weekend. Sunday is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

I understand the western part of the USA has gotten lots of rain. Jimmy sent me pictures of Yuma and there is lots of water there. I guess more was on the way today. Charlene said they had a terrific thunder storm last nigh in her area of Vegas. And Ilene said that the Searchlight area got a good drenching also. The desert flowers will be awesome once again, Here, we are about done with the showers and thunderstorms for a few days. We are well over our total for the month according to the weatherman.

Quote for the day: “There are several things that may cause men’s stress levels to rise, One stressful activity is brushing their hair and finding that they’re becoming, shall we say, folicularly challenged!” My calendar.

Have a great rest of your Friday and a super safe, healthy, adventurous, exciting, relaxing and fun weekend.
