A DOGWOOD TREE ADORNED IN BEAUTIFUL PINK BLOOMS.

Wednesday, April6, 2022 Cloudy Windy, Rain coming Under a Tornado Watch 77 degrees 6:14 p.m.

It has been a mostly cloudy day with a couple of hours of sunshine. The weatherman said we are in for thunder, lightening, high winds and lots of rain. I took in the bird feeders, our one flowering pot, and most anything that could blow away and cause harm to something or someone. The birds are still out and singing . Once they disappear I will get a bit more concerned.

I am going to make this quick as I don’t want to be sitting in front of these windows, on the computer when the lightening starts. The wind is picking up and it is getting darker . I will report tomorrow

have a great rest of you Wednesday. Be safe, Have fun.

SUCH BEAUTIFUL TREES IN SO MANY SHADES, WHITE, PINK, RED, YELLOW

Tuesday, April 5, 2022 Calm Cloudy Rainy beautiful 62 Degrees 6:21 p.m.

We had a busy and fun weekend, and a very busy Monday so I missed my blog yesterday. Saturday we picked up Dotty and went to Knoxville, shopping. It was fun but we didn’t buy much. Then lunch at Chevies and that was good and fun. The next stop was at an Amish store where we bought jams and a jar of spiced peaches that are wonderful. So good. The jam that we have opened is also very good. then to Dotty’s where we left her and came on home.

Sunday was quiet and spend mostly doing nothing. Tina worked in the am and I attended church on line. then we binge watched NICS Washington DC until news time. Bed early both nights as getting up at 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. tends to make bed time early.

Monday Tina had an early morning doctor appointment in Knoxville so off we went. Had breakfast after the appointment at ‘First Watch”, then off to COSCO. The morning exercise. After an hour and a half in there we headed home. Put the groceries away and took off for Home Depot for plants for the start of the garden. Then a stop at Kroger and finally home. After putting things away and I sat down in the recliner and promptly fell asleep. Woke up to eat a bit of dinner, watch a show on TV and off to bed. So tired.

Today has been busy catching up on things that I didn’t get done all weekend and yesterday. The polling count is up for cedar trees, and a few other things. there is a big cedar tree right outside and I am noticing it. I have a runny nose, watery scratchy eyes and know that it is allergies. I remember from last year. But the tree is so pretty and home to so many birds and probably a squirrel.

Have a terrific rest of your Tuesday. Make it safe, healthy, profitable and fun.

FRIDAY, APRIL 1, 2022

THIS IS A PEAR TREE THAT HAS BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS BUT SMELLS BAD. THIS TREE DOESN’T PRODUCE FRUIT.

Friday, April 1, 2022 Sunny Windy Cool Beautiful 57 degrees 6:40 p.m.

Spring has sprung here and it is pretty. The temperature is on the cool side but other then that, no complaints. All the birds seem to be returning to the Bird Condo, eating at the various bird feeders and enjoying the beauty of the season. Our cats, Sierra and Milo, are enjoying watching the birds, wishing that they could go out and join them, or else we would open the windows and let the birds in. Neither is happening.

Friday, the first day of April, The first weekend of April. I wonder how all will handle the April Fool’s day and the weekend? There is traffic, the parking lots are full and I believe the hotels and restaurants are already packed. We have one place here that has live music and the parking lot is nearly filled. there are a few hardy people who are thinking about going up to the mountains but I think were discouraged as there are three wild fires burning and people are being evacuated. One is on the Tennessee North Carolina border, in the Smokies, one is in Monroe County, in the Smokies and I am not sure where the other one is. The Wear Valley one is very close to Gatlinburg which is close to Pidgin Ford. The kids on Spring Break are not happy campers as they were evacuated. They were having to stay in a shelter. I think the big one, 3700 acres is about 40% contained. Am not sure about the other ones.

We have no big plans for the weekend. I always like waiting and seeing what events come about. I think we will go to Clinton and visit Dottie one day. I know that Tina has a doctor’s appointment early Monday morning so will be going to Knoxville then. What exciting events await us?

Today I caught up on the laundry, The chair is wonderful as I was able to get all t he laundry down, then took it back up, one load at a time and got it all put away. I can hold the basket on my lap and go up or down. It sure saves the knees and legs, believe me.

Have a great rest of you day and a wonderful, restful, exciting and fun weekend.

A PHOTO FROM ONE OF THE MUSEUMS IN OAK RIDGE. WE PLAN ON VISITING EACH ONE HEAR THIS YEAR.

Thursday, March 31, 2022 Mostly cloudy Windy Cool 65 Degrees 4:28 p.m.

The last day of March, 2022! Another beautiful day, but not as warm as yesterday and quite windy. the wind was fierce last night, blowing down trees and scattering things around from place to place. Here we had no damage and I didn’t hear the wind, nor the rain. Tina said that she did and that it was blowing hard when she came home from work. We had to go out this morning so saw some trees that had blown down. I know that the lights flickered several times and I had to reset a couple of clocks. It is spring and the last day of March. I guess it is going out like a lion. Sure hope April comes in like a lamb.

Today they installed the chair lift for the stairs. It is nice and I am very happy to have it. that will help both Tina and I a lot, though she thinks she will continue to climb the stairs for exercise. We shall see. I know I won’t be so worried about my leg giving out when I am going up or down the stairs. Falling isn’t one of my favorite things to do.

The birds have been out and dining at the new bird feeders like they are gourmet. There is a young cardinal and a red headed, red breasted smallish bird that I can’t find a picture of . It is pretty. I guess I will have to expand my bird knowledge and buy another bird book for this area. There are so many different birds. Someone commented that there are different birds because of the tornadoes and storms in different areas. That could be. They all blew in and like it here. There is a lot of nest building going on..

The quite for the day: People will accept your ideas much more readily if you tell them Benjamin Franklin said it first. David H. Comins

Have a great rest of your Thursday. Make it a thrifty, thankful, trusting, truthful and fun day.
