BLOOMING TREES ARE EVERYWHERE IN EAST TENNESSEE

Wednesday, April 13, 2022 Sunny Windy light clouds floating 81 degrees 6:22 p.m.

The Bluejays are enjoying dinner at the main bird feeder. They seem to be last years babies as they are young and playful, it seems. I believe all the summer birds are returning as we sure have had a variety today. So fun to watch.

Tomorrow Sierra goes to the vet to see what her problem is about not keeping her back clean. She is getting grouchy and also demanding so am curious to see what the vet has to say. I hope it is nothing serious and a simple hair cut and trim will do the trick. Also back claws trimmed.

Milo is fine and very busy watching all the activity going on outdoors. The birds and bugs and leaves, etc, There is a lot of movement. He hissed and had his fur up when the lady’s dog that lives in the next set of town homes came up to the door. The dog barked at Milo and Milo was in attack mood. There was a glass door between them so all were safe. It was funny, though. That same Town House got a new heat pump and they have been working at installing it for 5 days. They had to split it so ran new tubing and made new most everything. I guess it was quite a project. The ole one didn’t want to come out so that was a problem. Those town houses are three story so harder to get at everything.

The town house on the right of ours is for sale. It is 2 bedroom one and 1/s bath, 1500 sq ft. with some updating. They put in new carpet and new flooring and did a bit of painting. They want $188,300.00. Last year they wanted $179,500 for the same place and didn’t get it so I wonder if they will get it this year? The bedrooms and bath are upstairs. There is a garage and also a small fenced outdoor space. Anyone interested can put in 103 Golfcrest Lane, Oak Ridge, TN and see it on Zillo.

THE DOGWOOD TREE AFTER TODAY’S RAIN

Tuesday, April 12, 2022 Cloudy, Thunder Storms Rainy 64 degrees 4:24 p.m.

Yesterday was cool, cloudy and a few showers. The day being Monday it was laundry day. Dinner, which Tina put in the crock pot was beef stew which was good but missing the Irish potatoes. There was sweet potatoes and some winter veggies in it.. Dottie came over and joined us for dinner, and took some quiche home with her as well as some stew. Tina made quiche also. That was this morning’s breakfast. it was good also.

Today she went to work and I cleaned up the house and finished a couple projects. Both cats have decided that today was the bug Sandy day and have pestered me all day long. They have “helped” me make the bed. Sat in the window and watched me do dishes, sat on the cell phone when it rang, laid on the keyboard when I needed the computer, and in general was everywhere I have been, wanting attention and treats.

Tina made a vet appointment for Sierra as she has not been able to keep her back groomed and won’t let either of us get the knots off her back. She isn’t eating much and seems to not like the cat food. So, of course, Milo follows suite as far as the eating goes. He also is right in the middle of everything. They are cute and I do so enjoy them except when I am trying to work on the computer or am on the phone. then I would like to turn them loose outdoors and let them play. they now don’t seem to interested in going outdoors. They might miss something.

We are supposed to have more thunder storms tonight so it will be another restless night if the thunder is as loud as it was last night and the lightening as bright as it was last night. I should say very early this morning! 1:35 A.M. was the first round.

THE TREE IS FULL OF PRETTY BLOOMS WE ARE NOW IN DOGWOOD WINTER

Friday, April 8, 2022 Cloudy Rainy Thunder Storms Possible 41 degrees 8:49 p.m.

A typical busy day with scattered light showers on and off, some sun but mostly clouds. I have been working on my stories most of the day. Late this afternoon Tina and I went to Hobby Lobby after canvas’s for our Ladies Afternoon of painting tomorrow. I really enjoy looking through that store and seeing all the pretty things that I have no use for. I do like the craft things they have and know that is the place to go when I need something, like canvas and brushes and paints.

Other then that it was a quiet day. I heard, and watched a police car fly by on the turnpike. I am always amazed at how brightly lite up all the emergency vehicles are here. They have lights that pretty much outline the car, truck, whatever. Not the ambulances, but everything else. And the lights are blue and white. You can efficiently see them coming an also hear them. rather pretty, I think. The school buses have dome lights on the top of the buses so they can be seen quite clearly also.

Have a great rest of your Friday and a cheerful, energetic, adventurous, safe, healthy weekend

A KOUSA DOGWOOD

Thursday, April 7, 2022 Mostly Sunny Breezy Chilly 62 degrees 6:20 p.m.

A lovely day after a stormy night. We were fortunate as all we got was five minutes of very heavy rain, and then wind, but not damaging wind. I haven’t heard of any trees being blown down or other damage from the rain or wind. We live in a very good spot I am thinking. But I brought in the bird feeders and hanging plants so that they wouldn’t get blown away and cause damage. I put them all back out this morning as I knew the birds would like the feeders back. I think they were waiting. We are very thankful that the storm didn’t do damage here.

I believe South Carolina wasn’t ads fortunate as they had tornadoes and flooding rains, etc. The southern states have really experienced a rough spring this year with the tornadoes and rain and snow. Flooding ha been the biggest problem is some areas while others have had the tornadoes. East Tennessee has had the fires in the Smokies that have destroyed buildings, including homes and businesses. The people have been allowed back in some pf the ruins to see what is left and what can be done. Some are still being kept out due to hot spots. There will be a lot of rebuilding and putting lives and businesses back together. It is sad as Wear Valley is a very popular spot for tourists as well as people who live in the area. There area has cabins to rent and a store, and restaurant, a coffee/ ice cream shop, a fabric store, hiking trails, wild life and just plane beauty. Of course, that is only one place in Wear Valley. there are many other interesting and beautiful place in the area.

The cats are reminding me that their dinner is late. Pamela has been here and we played PUSH TEN, a card game. It was new to me and it was fun. She is gone for the weekend, and then back to work so I believe our afternoon games are over for awhile. It was fun.
