THE BEAR CUBS IN THE

SMOKIES’ MOUNTAINS PLAYING

Friday, October 15, 2021 Cloudy Windy 82 degrees Rain in the future 3:41 p.m.

Friday, the end of the work week and people are looking forward to the High School Football games this evening and the Collage games on Saturday. Our games in East Tennessee will probably get, at least, sprinkled on this evening. I believe that the game tomorrow will have a chance of being rained on also. The great news is that a cold front is slowly moving through and tomorrow’s high is said to b 66 degrees. Fall weather. Leaves turning beautiful colors and sweaters back in style.

Today was doctor day. Then a trip to Home Depot, Walgreens, and Walmart. Lunch at Pan-era. It was good. The rest of the day and weekend is mostly preparing for out trip. It is getting close and I am getting excited. I will take the camera and hope to get some great pictures and also my tablet and I should get some great pictures on it to send. We will also go to the Creation Museum. It should be a very interesting trip. We are going to tour Smuckers Gift Shop and Cafe. And Schindler’s Bakery, which is said to be very famous.

Before you think I have two miss spelled words in this, the computer doesn’t approve the the correct spelling.

Question for the day and weekend: Did John Deer go on Strike? Did Hollywood go on strike? Do we get to go without commercials?

Have a great Friday and a fantastic Weekend. A Safe, Healthy, Fun, Relaxing Weekend!

JOHN DEER TRACTOR AT WORK

Thursday, October 14, 2021 Sunny Calm 77 Degrees, 6:41 p.m.

This is late, again, and I am sorry. I am working on a project and while researching I loose track of time. I hope to soon be done with the research and get back on my more or less normal schedule. Do we have normal anymore?

While watching the news this morning I learned that John Deer employees are going on strike, or may already be on strike, for higher wages, better working conditions and better benefits. And Also Hollywood (Movie, TV,. etc) are also planning on going on strike for the same thing. I am wondering why they think now is the right time to go on strike? I would think that after all the time off work, being laid off, etc. because of COVID-19 they would like being back at work and being productive. I know that they probably did very well with their extra large unemployment checks each week but I believe that gravy train is about to expire if it hasn’t already.

I guess I am old school, well, at least old, but I still believe that working to earn a paycheck makes one feel like they have accomplished something, even if the job is hard and not at all what was planned on or dreamed of. Earning each phase of a job, each advancement, each new prospect, each new adventure gives one a sense of accomplishment. And, yes, that shoe probably doesn’t fit all.

Now, while striking for better pay, benefits, working conditions is the way to express ones feelings, but one should also stop and think of what damage this strike is going to do to the country, to their neighbors, to their community and eventually to themselves? Do they get a pay check while hey are out striking? How long will the strike last? If no paycheck, how long can they go without groceries or paying their bills? Just my thoughts.

But, if Hollywood goes on strike and they can’t have TV programs, maybe we can have reruns without 13 minute commercials every 10 minutes.? Just a thought!

The shortest book in the bible is The third Epistle of John.

Have a wonderful rest of your Thursday. Make it thought provoking, interesting, challenging and fun.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRL

Wednesday, October 13, 2021 Mostly Cloudy Slight breeze 73 degrees 6:31 p.m.

A busy day around here. Laundry and pick and put away; working on crafts and chatting with friends vie cell phone.

Cooked dinner and did dishes and now to do the BLOG and then be ready for Jeopardy. Amodo finished his winning streak and we had a new guy last night. We will see how long he can go. Mark Amodo !went for 38 weeks and that is just below Ken Jennings I believe. I think he was tired.

Tina saw a herd of deer at Turtle Park on her way to work this morning. It is always scary to think that they might be on or near the highway and will dart out and get hit. That would not be good for the deer or the vehicle. They are all over the place and we figure we will have them here one day. We live close to a golf course and I am sure they go there often. They do like green grass, tree leaves, etc.

Today is my granddaughter’s birthday. She took her children hiking in the Smokies so do hope that she and they had a great time and got to see, at a distance, bear and other inhabitants of the Smokies. the Smokies are so pretty and a great many wild animals live there as well as people. Now the trees are starting to turn their beautiful colors of reds, yellows, browns and are just beautiful. We hope to see a lot of those next week when we head out to the ARK.

The answer to yesterday’s question is:1620. 401 years ago. I wonder what those pilgrims would think of the “New World” now?

Today’s question: What is the smallest book in the bible?

Have a great rest of your Wednesday. Make it a pleasant, profitable, fun, safe and healthy one.

CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS LANDING ON THE SHORES OF AMERICA

Tuesday, October 12, 2021 Windy Cloudy 67 Degrees 3:17 p.m.

A quiet day after a rather busy weekend. Friday I had an MRI on my shoulder, then lunch with Tina and Jerry at a Japanese restaurant that was really good. After that a visit to Target and then home. That was a full day. Saturday we worked around the house and started thinking about Christmas and what we want to do etc. Sunday was church and a lazy day. Monday was company and a trip to Hobby Lobby.

All of a sudden this month is close to being half over and next week we go on our three day vacation to visit Noah’s Ark and a museum and few places in Kentucky and Ohio. It should be perfect weather, not to hot or cold and I hope a lot of the fall colors in all the trees. It will be a good and interesting trip with lots to see and so.

Tomorrow is my granddaughter’s birthday. She is celebrating by taking her children hiking in the Smokies. Since they are being home schooled I am thinking this is a educational school related hike. The Smokies are getting their fall colors now so I am sure it will be a beautiful scenic hike and fun as well. I hope they don’t meet up with any of the bears that live there and seem to visit the surrounding communities often. They are working at gorging themselves for the “long Winter ” ahead. It is said that the bears eat over 3200 calories a day when preparing for winter.

Question for the day: If Columbus Sailed the Ocean Blue in 1492, on the Nita, Pinta and Santa Maria, when did the Mayflower sail to America, bringing all those pilgrims?

Have a wonderful rest of your Tuesday. Make it prosperous, pleasant, kindly and fun.
