Tuesday, October 3, 2023 Sunny Still No Clouds 83 Degrees 3:47 p.m.

So far a busy day playing catch-up with making appointments, answering e-mails, and household stuff I have put on the back burner. Jeff and Nanette will be here this coming Monday so want to have everything done so we can visit and site see, etc. it will be fun seeing them and catching up with all the news from Reno and surrounding areas.

I need to go out and water again as everything is so dry and there is no rain expected until maybe Thursday but more likely the weekend. Even the birds are hiding. No action outdoors at all at the moment. We are expecting a cold front this weekend and that will be nice. I understand the low will be in the 30’s. The high’s in the 60’s. Not bad as it is October. All the decorations are out all over the place, mostly Halloween but some just beautiful fall. We are mostly the fall people but have the ceramic pumpkin or jack-o-latrine out front. I will put the candle in closer to Halloween. We sill have candy for the little ones.

Quote of the day: “There are a lot of things that can make you feel old, and looking into the mirror (if you’re wearing your glasses and the WRONG attitude) is one of them.” My calendar

Have a great rest of your Tuesday. Make it a cheerful, productive, amazing and fun day.

Monday, October 2, 2023 Sunny Wispy Clouds Calm 84 Degrees 4:16 p.m.

A beautiful October day. Warm, sunny, calm, and peaceful. As I type the breeze came up. We usually have wind for a bit in the late afternoons but nothing very serious. Not at all like Searchlight’s winds. The weather person said that we should have very warm and sunny days through Thursday and then the cold front will start to move in and the temperatures will drop down into the 60’s. We should have a chilly weekend. Yes, Fall is here.

The weekend was great. Saturday we went to Knoxville and picked up Dottie. Then went to lunch at Red Robin. The hamburgers were great. Dottie said that hers was very good. She is the hamburger queen so if she approves one knows it was a great place to go for lunch.

After leaving there we went to Painted Tree Market Place. It is a humongous place with different cubicles and areas with crafts and items made by individuals. It is so interesting. We were there about 2 hours, visiting each stall, booth or area. We found lots of things we would like for ourselves or as gifts for someone else. Of course, Tina bought a purse. I bought three gifts for Christmas presents. So much fun and we will go back.

After leaving there we went to Barns and Nobel as I was looking for a special notebook, which they didn’t have. Tina found something she couldn’t leave without. Then we took Dottie home, visited with Max for a few and then headed home. A stop at Walmart for needed grocery items and that was the day. The recliners were calling our names by that time. Sierra did get her dinner and lots of lap time.

Sunday we got up, did church with Charles Stanley, then breakfast and on to cleaning the upstairs. That entailed dusting, vacuuming, bathrooms, etc. We also went in the shed and started looking for some fall decorations that we know we have, but gave up after the first few buckets. The things we are looking for are probably packed away with the Christmas stuff so will get them out then and put them with the fall stuff. I thought I had it all put together but guess I didn’t quite make that goal. Maybe this year’s end.

Quote of the day: ” Music has provided soothing comfort. In happy times it has inspired me to even higher realms of joy. In times of loneliness, it has brought abundant comfort. Truly, it is a gift of heaven on earth!” My calendar

Have a great rest of your Monday. Make it a musical, cheerful, joyful and fun day.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2023

Friday, September 29, 2023 Mostly Sunny Breezy Warm Nice 76 Degrees 4:12 p.m.

A nice day. Dillon, a man Bill hired to fix his front room window screens and replace the wood that is rotting was here yesterday and again today. He is quite talented and very meticulous in his work. He wants it right and so works hard to make it perfect. The new screens are in and the whole frame that goes around the four windows as well as between them is completely new, painted and he is putting on metal around also so as it won’t rot out for many years. He will be back Monday to complete the project. He will talk to Charles on Monday and do a couple of odd jobs for us.

It was interesting watching him bring out this machine that cuts and bends metal. He set it up, then used it to cut each piece to fit perfectly. I had just seen that machine on “Homes on Homes” so knew about what it did. I enjoyed watching it in operation in person. It seems that all his equipment is duel purpose and his van is well situated with a place for everything, all neat and nice. He doesn’t waste time but at the same time, he doesn’t hurry through what he is doing. I am impressed and so is Bill.

The weekend is supposed to be lovely weather wise. We plan on going to Knoxville tomorrow to visit Dottie and Max. We will take her and go shopping and probably out for a hamburger as Dottie loves Hamburgers. I think we are going to COSCO as there are a few items we need from there. Where else I am not sure. Maybe check on Dallas. I doubt we will go over there as company gets the dogs all excited and Dallas is supposed to be kept calm, no running and no jumping, etc. She is a Puppy! It will be fun. Sunday, church, then we need to get some small household duties accomplished and then spend the rest of the day doing nothing. R & R.

Quote of the day: “Tending the Grass” “The grass is not, in fact, always greener on the other side of the fence.” writes Robert Fulghum. “Fences have nothing to do with it. The grass is greenest whee it is watered. When crossing over fences, carry water with you and tend the grass wherever you may be.”

From Bits and Pieces.

Have a great rest of your Friday. And a fantastic weekend. Make both enjoyable, adventurous, pleasant, relaxing, safe and fun.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2023

Thursday, September 28, 2023 Mostly Cloudy Warm Breezy 73 Degrees 4:37 p.m.

We got rain yesterday. It came with Thunder and Lightening. We did not loose power, for which I am sure everyone is thankful. There is a chance we could get a shower this evening so will have to wait and see.

Today has been busy but quiet. I finished cleaning the downstairs. I do enjoy my Shark Steam cleaner-mop. it makes life so much easier. If I go over the floors every other day the steam cleaner works wonders. I hadn’t done more then run the vacuum for a week so did mop them and then steam cleaned them. Our floors are clean.

Dallas came through her surgery just fine and today was ready to play. I believe Tammy and Jerry are going to have their hands full with that recuperating puppy. She feels fine and wants to play but has to do some healing first. Tell that to a Great Piernese puppy! I have a feeling the other three dogs can’t understand why she can’t “come out and play” either.

Quote of the day: “People don’t care how much you know. They just need to know you care.” My Calendar.

Have a great rest of your day. Make it a caring, friendly, enjoyable and fun day.
