Tuesday, July 11, 2023 Sunny Clear Breezy Warm 86 Degrees 4:27 p.m.

Another beautiful day here in Oak Ridge. Very little humidity and that is awesome. I understand that we will start back in the rainy, humid weather tomorrow. I sure have enjoyed the cool nights and dry days. WE got down to 59 last night and that was awesome.

Today has been quiet. Well, at least this afternoon has been. It seems like everyone lawn mowing service was out mowing lawns today. Not ours as he did ours last Friday. In fact our four Town Homes had their lawns all done last Friday or Saturday so our front yards are looking spiffy. Everyone here in Green Village Estates, or what we call “the Village”, keeps their yards looking nice, neat and clean. We don’t have A Homeowners Association and all here do just fine. That puts a smile on our faces.):

Quote of the day: “One of my favorite ways to encourage others is by writing a quick note. Usually I jot something down on a silly carton I’ve seen somewhere. The message doesn’t have to be long. Brief and sincere notes can uplift the receiver as much as a bouquet of flowers.” My Calendar

Have a great rest of your Tuesday. Make it a positive, productive, pleasurable, promising and fun day.

Monday, July 10, 2023 Sunny Dry Breezy Warm 84 Degrees 4:52 P.M.

I hope y’all had a great a weekend as we did. Playing with dogs is the most fun and we enjoyed our Dog Sitting days. Baby Dallas in now 18 weeks old and weighs in at 37.5 pounds. she is so cute, fun, playful, well behaved, soft, cuddly and would like to be a lap dog. Unfortunately, no one has a lap big enough to hold her. She likes feet. Tammy said to watch our toes as she likes to chew on them. We didn’t have the toe problem. However she loves to sit on your feet, stand on your feet, lay on your feet and even walk on your feet. Dallas likes to have tummy rubs and be brushed. She likes to chew on anything she thinks she can so has to be watched. her and a two year old have a great deal in common.

Murphy, the only mail of the bunch, is very busy guarding everything and every one. He keeps the “girls” in line and is Dallas’s playmate as he will play with her, even instigates it half the time. He make the other two behave and breaks up any quarrels over toys. I guess it is his Harem to rule. Lacy is the Princess and enjoys sleeping in late, being petted, playing with her ball, playing fetch and being made over. Finley is the aggressive one who loves to play fetch and tug-of-war. She will growl at any of the other dogs who get in her way with the game of fetch. She also likes tummy rubs, being brushed and petted. She could do nicely without Dallas but is starting to play with her a little. Considering Murphy and Lacy are miniatures Schnauzer and Finley is dachshund and Shelty, they play and get along quite well. Dallas is very gentle with them.

Weather has turned very nice and dry. I do so appreciate it after all the muggy days.

Quote of the day: “I’ve reached the age where it’s harder and harder to think of my body as a temple, it’s more like a building project that got out of control!)” My Calendar

Have a great rest of you Monday. Make it a joyous, cheerful, energetic and fun day.

THURSDAY, JULY 6, 2023

Thursday, July 6, 2023 Partly Sunny Breezy Warm Humid 77 Degrees 5:42 p.m.

How time flies when one is having fun. I have been on the phone most of the afternoon so am late at getting this out. It is nice to catch up with family so enjoyed talking to them. All are doing well even though the summer heat persists in Texas, Arizona and Nevada. Also Kansas has experienced bad weather but all is well there.

Here, we have had our afternoon shower. That does save on the watering bill as all plants have been well watered. The bird bath is full so the birds, squirrels and chipmunks can all drink and even have a bath if they desire. Thanks to the rain the water seems to be fresh daily.

Tomorrow starts the dog sitting at Jerry’s. It should be so much fun with Dallas being a puppy and the other three not puppies but half or less Dallas’s size. She romps and plays with them, Murphy being her best playmate. The other two tend to get a bit grumpy when she gets a little rough. We enjoyed all their antics on the 4th so am looking forward to spending a couple days with them.

That being said, there won’t be a blog tomorrow, but Monday I will give a full report on all the fun. I hope they leaves lots of towels out so I can dry Dallas off when she comes in after playing in the rain. She loves the rain. The other three prefer being dry so don’t go out in it unless absolutely necessary.

Have a great rest of your Thursday. Make it a patient, calm, cool and fun day. Make your Friday and weekend Safe, healthy, enjoyable, sociable and fun.

Wednesday, July 5, 2023 Cloudy Breezy Humid Warm/Hot 76 Degrees 1:54 p.m.

I haven’t done my blog since last month. These holidays tend to get in the way. The days have been busy and the weather has been wet, muggy, windy, sunny, foggy, hot, warm, and in general all mixed up. We have had some terrific thunder storms that did damage in Oak Ridge, Knoxville and surrounding areas but not so much here in our village. We had a good rain storm this morning but now it is just cloudy and cool. The clouds are keeping it cooler then what the weatherman predicted.

It seems like each day we have had something planned and the weather has encouraged us to change our plans. Friday I spend the day with Dottie. We worked a dress I bought that was 6 inches to long. She pinned and then cut a bunch off. She then cut my hair. Jerry brought us lunch and stayed and visited for a bit. Then he was off to do errands. When Tina got off work she came and picked me up. Of course she had to pet and play with Max for a bit.

Saturday we planned on getting up early and getting the grocery shopping done. So we got up at 7:00 a.m., had coffee, showered and dressed and headed out to go shopping. First we have breakfast… At the Jefferson Street Drug Store. It was fun. Good food, good service and fun, interesting people. For the most part, everybody knew everybody. The talk was of the upcoming events for the weekend, bike races, ball games, fireworks, etc. BBQ’s galore.

We left there and spent time in Hobby Lobby, Walmart, and Kroger’s. Finally home. By this time it is 90+ degrees and we have the car to unload and groceries to put away, etc. Tina had to return some DVDs to Charles, so did that and she played a bit with his two kittens. Julie popped in for a couple of minutes. The evening was taco salad for dinner and TV.

Sunday was quiet and rainy, cloudy, hot and humid. We did next to nothing. Monday was normal, laundry, Tina had to work, Julie came over and we visited. I did some computer work and dinner and all the normal Monday stuff.

The 4th we got up at the normal time. Enjoyed our coffee. Tina watched ‘Independence Day” , then got ready to go to Jerry’s’. We changed the bed, washed the sheets, Tina made Cowboy baked beans for us to take. Once there it was visit and play with the dogs. they are so fun. Dallas is getting so big, 40+ pounds now and acts like she is 5 pounds. She is so pretty and her fur is so soft. She now romps and plays with all three of the other dogs but they still put her in her place when she gets to rambunctious. All in all, it was a fun time. Fireworks that evening weren’t very loud and there were few set off in our area. all here was quiet by 10:00 p.m.

Now it is Wednesday and I am playing catch up on a lot of things. I want to get my blog out as my next project is getting the craft room back in order. WE have piled things in there for a week and now I need to get it cleaned up so I can continue with my projects.

Have a great rest of you Wednesday. Make it a warm, enjoyable, summer time ice tea and pop cycles day.
