THE BEAUTIFUL PINK BLOSSOMS ON THIS DOGWOOD TREE

Thursday, April 21, 2022 Mostly Sunny Breezy Thin High Clouds 76 degrees 4:30p.m.

Another beautiful spring day. I missed the blog yesterday. An afternoon shopping, then dinner, did me in. I also did laundry yesterday and that is a day’s job any more. By evening my feet hurt and my legs hurt and my back hurt. I have to remember that I can’t wear Flip Flops all day long. That was the major cause of all my aches and pains yesterday evening.

Today is a great day. Warmer weather, no rain, no frost, just sunshine. Son Jeff called to tell me that Reno was having snow and it was 30 degrees. I was very pleased to tell him that Oak Ridge was having sunshine and 63 degrees. Last week at this time Reno was warm and sunny and we were rainy and cold. Weather sure is consistent this year.

Am watching a young by walking up the street, looking at his cell phone and bouncing a basketball. That is multi talented. He didn’t miss a step or a bounce and the ball didn’t get away from him. I hope he makes it all the way home just like that. I notice that the kids around here play a lot of basket ball. I guess the high school basket ball team is # 1 in the area. The state is very sports minded as well as music minded. This is an interesting state.

Quote of the day: Only you can be yourself. No one else is qualified for the job.

Have a great rest of your Thursday. Make it a truly magnificent day, filled with kindness, smiles, cheerfulness and fun.

THE DIFFERENT COLORS OF THE DOGWOOD TREE BLOSSOM.

Tuesday, April 19, 2022 Sunny Windy Chilly 58 degrees 5:15 p.m.

It has been a beautiful day, but also a cold one. There was thick frost on the roofs this morning and on cars going by on the turnpike. I understand that tomorrow morning will be the same, but the day will be warmer by a few degrees. It looks so lovely out, then when you walk out, it is cold! It is not shorts and tee shirt weather yet.

Our La-Din today was lasagna Caesar salad, Texas toast, spiced peaches and a cookie. It was very good. I love spiced peaches. Tomorrow a new dish will have to be thought up. I am thinking chili as it is cool enough for that. Also, we haven’t had that for quite awhile. With corn bread of course.

In spite of the frost this morning the flowers are still looking bright and beautiful. I guess that they are use to the cold weather. I see the rose bush is starting to come back so have to spray it with a mixture of dawn dish liquid and water to keep the bugs off of it. Will also have to work at keeping it down below the window level as it grows tall and spread out to where we can’t see out the window. We both love watching the birds so have to keep the rosebush down low!

this morning there were goldfinches out there among the cardinals and blue jays, titmouse and warblers. There are so many birds and so many species that I can’t keep up with them. I think the birdhouse has an occupant so will be watching to see who and what comes out of it. I think it is a little gray bird. Am not sure what kind.

Have a terrific rest of your Tuesday. Make it a thrifty, tantalizing, and fun day

SUCH A PRETTY TREE IN EAST TENNESSEE

Monday, April 18, 2022 Cloudy Windy Chilly Rainy 54 degrees 4:04 p.m.

Woke up to rain this morning, and a chill in the air. the rain has pretty much stopped but who knows for how long? There is a dark cloud out there that looks like it could unload at any moment. But, April showers Bring May Flowers. We do love the flowers.

I hope all had a very happy and blessed Easter. We certainly did. Started the morning, bright and early with Charles Stanly’s Easter service on TV. He is very good and had an excellent message. At 10:30 I turned on West Park Baptist church and listened to their choir and Rev. Pulson. He was also good. the choir and music are very good. After Tina got home from work and we got things ready, off we went to Jerry & Tammy’s home for a Waster/Birthday gathering. It was Tammy’s birthday her son, daughter Mother and her Dad, were all there along with the puppy dogs, Murphy, Lacy, Finley and Max. We had a great time and lots of delicious food. Two cakes, a strawberry one and a red velvet one. That along with salmon, ham, potato salad, fresh green beans, rolls, mac and cheese, Caesar salad, and great company. It was a fun afternoon.

Bedtime is early this week as Tina has the morning shift, starting at 5:00 a.m. I do believe a 9 to 5 job would be great but his one seems to let each employee experience different shifts each week. It does make life a bit confusing , but interesting. She now knows most of the dogs who’s owners shop at Home Depot at every hour. Today was quiet for the most part. I had a knee doctor appointment this morning, then this afternoon my granddaughter and great grand children came for a short visit. It is always a fun time and a pleasure to see them. They are getting so big and growing so fast. Now it is getting towards supper time and time for me to go help.

Have a marvelous Monday. Make it a happy, productive, positive, safe, healthy and fun day.

BLOSSOMS OF EVERY HUE, WHITE, YELLOW, PINK AND RED

Thursday, April 14, 2022 Sunshine, Windy Clear 67 Degrees 5:01 p.m.

A beautiful spring day. I woke up about 3:00 a.m. to the sound of heavy rain. It must of rained quite a bit as there were puddles everywhere outdoors when I got up at 7:00 a.m. I didn’t stay awake to listen to the beautiful sound of raindrops on the roof.

this morning we took Sierra to the vet. She likes her carrying case but not riding in the car. She was fine once we got in the examining room and she was let out of the case. She doesn’t like them looking at her gums, but other then that they could handle her. She had blood drawn, the fur clumps combed out and cut off her back, he back claws cut and she was a bit dehydrated so gave her a injection of water that will dispel over 24 hours. That was something new. They said that they would call tomorrow with the results of the blood test. She came home with us and both she and Milo seem to be happy she is home. We are. Right now she is curled up in her carrying case napping. Since she and Milo both like the carrying cases I think I might bring the other one in and let them use them.

Tina is at work and I am cleaning out the “sewing room” which is more or less a storage room where we seem to put anything we aren’t sure where to put.?. I sure can gather empty boxes of all sizes, shapes and colors. that is what I have gathered the most of so far. I am close to being finishes and will have all neat and tidy by bed time. Right now, it is close to dinner time and I need to go figure out just what I want for that meal.
