Monday, January 10, 2022 Sunny Breezy Cold 43 degrees 4:00 p.m.

A beautiful winter day in East Tennessee. The sky is blue with nary a cloud, The sun is shining brightly. There is a nip in the air with the chilly breeze blowing just enough to remind you that a coat is needed. Not Spring yet.

A busy weekend with Deagan celebrating his 13th birthday. The Tennessee Family all had breakfast at Jake’s Scramble, a great breakfast and lunch dining place in Knoxville. Both Deagan and Chael had the gigantic cinnamon rolls that are so delirious. Tevia had pancakes, and the rest of us had egg breakfasts like omelets and crapes, and breakfast burritos, and such. Tina had her usual bacon and eggs. So adventurous. All wonderful.

Deagan asked for gloves, shirt and pants to wear when he rides his dirt bike, so that is what he got, I am not sure if he is going to practice and then one day ride the dirt bike in races or just what. I know the kids in Searchlight are in competition and race all over Nevada, California and Arizona . This continues into adult hood and I believe there is prize money involved. That I am not sure about but it would only make sense Anyhow as long as he has fun, isn’t hurt and stays safe,..

Sunday was an all day rain event. It was a stay at home day, read, church on line, watch TV and eat a home made beef stew that turned out great. We watched some of our recordings, the Kids Baking Championship, Bull, and The Rookie. All good. I love the kids and am amazed at how well they bake and what they know about the methods and the ingredient . So smart. The news and America’s Funniest Home Movies. That was good.

Thursday, January 6, 2022 Snowing Raining Snowing NO SNOWBALLS 33 degrees 4:22 p.m.

It has been a quiet day around here. Very cloudy, very cold and show showers or rain showers or nothing! I have been watching to see an accumulation deep enough to at least make a snowball but so far, not even deep enough to make a marble. I haven’t seen anyone walk their dogs and only a couple of doves have been at the feeder. There is no school today as the schools are having a snow day. I guess some places here in Oak Ridge have gotten quite a bit of snow. Tina said that one of the girls where she works said that it is supposed to get down to 14 tonight. That is cold.

In the event that the power goes out I have made sure all flashlights, lanterns, phones, tablets and Kindles are charged. I would put the electric blanket on the bed but it wouldn’t work without electricity so will just leave the quilt on. It is quite warm and cozy. And tomorrow I can take this goofy sandal off and wear my own shoe so fuzzy warm slippers will be nice. I will add warm socks just in case.

Wednesday, January 5, 2022 Cold, Windy Storm a-coming 48 degrees 6:01 p.m.

Yes, it has been a winter day, wind was chilly and sun not very warm. However the Wondering Jew got to go out for a few hours. It does like the sun. I stayed in with my foot propped up for the most part. It feels fine but still need to keep it propped up more then hanging down or standing on it for more then a minute. I can feel it but it isn’t particularity painful, just a bit uncomfortable. Two more days. Then I should be back to normal in my own shoe.

Dottie and dog Max were over today. We watched Nash Bridges movie. It was good. Had lunch, Taco Boats. and Monkey bread for desert. It is always fun to have them visit and we will soon be starting to work on some craft projects. We both have things t get together for what we want to make. It will be fun.

Other then that I haven’t done much exciting today. When sitting with your foot propped up there isn’t much you can do but read, visit and watch TV. All the upcoming excitement is a winter storm is brewing and we will be under a winter storm advisory starting at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow. We might get snow. That will be pretty as long as I am inside and it is outside. Walking in snow in this sandal wouldn’t be much fun I don’t think.

Tuesday, January 4, 2022 Sunny Cole Breezy Beautiful 45 degrees 5:19 p.m.

A cold but lovely day. There is still snow in several places, like the mountains, but down here we just have some wet spots left and it is cold. Coats and gloves and hats and mittens are a must. It is good to feel winter as it is January and that is a winter month!

Today I went and had my hammer toes fixed. Only on one foot. I had put it off as long as possible but it was starting to feel like I was walking on my tippy toes, so knew that it was time. My foot will be a bit painful for a couple of days but well worth it. I am supposed to keep my foot up as much as possible for a couple of days so will do my best to do so. I have one of those cute black sandals to wear on that foot. I can’t see why they don’t give you two so that they match?.!!!

Tina finally got her new phone fixed. She couldn’t get texts or calls from most everyone. Only Jerry, Tammy, Dottie and myself could reach her. After 4 trips back to Xfinity it was discovered that Apple was blocking all the other texts and calls. Not the Robo calls. She was told that it was because they didn’t want to loose the customer. They do that when one drops them. That isn’t good business as far as I can see.
