MORE FEM HELEN, GEORGIA

Tuesday, December 28, 2021 Cloudy Windy Warm 68 degrees 3:46 p.m.

I am watching the wind blow the leaves around and the flags whirl every which way. I know that a storm is on it’s way in and will probably arrive this evening or very early morning. It will be rain and thunderstorms. Unlike the western half of the United States, we won’t get snow this time. Bur flooding here and there is a possibility.

There isn’t a whole lot of excitement around here still. Some people are back to work and some are still off or gone for the holidays. The ones that are gone probably took their dogs with them as not too many are being walked. Ir is pretty bad when you know the dogs but not their masters.

This morning we saw two Blue Jays out here ratting and flying around., chasing the little brown and gray birds off the bird feeder. Then we saw the squirrel out here hunting food. he wasn’t to interested in Bill’s bird seed so guess it isn’t fresh enough. He prefers it right after it gets filled. That might be awhile. We only fill them when they re empty.

I have to say I do love the new “dust pan”. It is really the very neatest, most back saving, energy saving gadget ever invented. The floors will surly be swept daily since that has entered the house. Pir whole downstairs is hardwood and that requires sweeping. Since the floors are old and need replace I am sure, sweeping works better then the dust mop and even the vacuum. When we hit the lottery we will replace the floors.

Have a great rest of your day. Make it pleasurable, pleasant, and productive.

THE CHRISTMAS TREE IN HELEN, GEORGIA

Monday, December 27, 2021 Cloudy sprinkles slight breeze 66 degrees 4:48 p.m.

The above picture is of the square in Helen Georgia. They had the whole town decorated for Christmas and it was so pretty. Every store, every building , every yard, all decorated with care and good taste. such a charming place to visit. I hope to go back one day. The shops are great and the ice cream cone a delight!

Christmas 2021 is not in the history books. I hope all had a wonderful one and Santa brought you just what you asked for! Or wanted. Ours here was very good. We got up and enjoyed our coffee and then opened our presents that were under our tree. After that and a bite of breakfast, we showered and dressed and set off for Clinton to pick up Dottie and Max, then off to Jerry and Tammy’s home. They had the house so nicely de orated and wonderful smells of food cooking.

we all, dogs included, gathered in the living room to open gifts . It was fun to see what everyone received. Santa brought a pressure washer for the families to share so I do believe that means work for us all. What a great gift as here one needs to keep the buildings clean and free of mold and such. It is a rainy part of the country. Also driveways and sidewalks cleaned as well as car ports and garages.

Tina received the frying pan/cooking pan of her dreams and she is thrilled over it. I got the electric dustpan, called an EYE-VAC. It is like the ones you see in the beaut y shops. I and my back love it! I do believe all the gifts were given with thought and all were very useful.

Then we went and sat down at the dining table and ate. We had roasted turkey, dumplings, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing rolls, green beans, macaroni salad, cranberries, and I can’t remember what all else. A wonderful desert, a pumpkin cake. All was so good and Was so full. We got home just at dark and in time for the World News. A great day, believe me.

I am watching for the postman, who is very late today. I guess there is a lot of mail considering that he had Saturday and Sunday off. I know he and his co-workers really deserved the two days off as they worked long hours from October until Christmas Day. I also think we have a new mailman as the other one retired. He will be missed.

Have a great rest of your day. Make it a productive, fun, cheerful and pleasant one.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

Friday, December 24, 2021 Cloudy Cold Breezy 54 degrees 3:35 p.m.

Merry Christmas Eve! Santa’s sleigh is packed and he is ready to take off with all his reindeer to deliver all the wishes of the good little girls and boys. I am sure each of you are in that category. Don’t forget to leave him a place with Home made cookies and a tall glass of milk. Or maybe Eggnog. I understand he likes both. Please make sure that your chimney is clean as Mrs. Clause gets very upset when Santa arrives home covered in soot. The cleaning bill is atrocious! Think of having to clean the sleigh after Santa has sat in it after climbing down and up all those sooty chimneys. I guess that keeps the elf’s busy for a couple of months.

Today’s story: TOMORROW IS CHRISTMAS

Tomorrow is Christmas, I’m terribly sad. My Friends are all merry but I’m very mad.

I’m feeling so awful I can hardly speak, I wish that this Christmas would wait one more week.

I’m really unhappy, I’m down in the dumps,

Tomorrow is Christmas and I have the mumps!

Well, I hope that everyone is well and no one has the mumps or anything else that outs them down in the dumps. Have a very Merry Safe, Healthy, Cheerful and fun Christmas, and also Christmas Eve.
