Wednesday, February 7, 2024 Sunny Few high clouds Breezy 62 Degrees 4:15 p.m.

It has been a week since I have been able to do my blog. I am happy to say that the “remodeling” is mostly complete. Slowly but surly things are returning to normal. My desk is beginning to look more like a desk than a mountain with legs, so hopefully I can get caught up with correspondence an the normal daily office duties. My e-mails are in the hundreds, and other computer programs that I should be checking are in need of my attention.

But the house is looking like humans live here, and not hoarders. We had everything piled in the living room and dining room; on top of and under, in every nook and corner, so it was hard to sit anyplace and be comfortable, Sierra couldn’t find her window kitty bed, and had to work hard to get on her tree. She would have to make three leaps to get to the top bed, after seeing if the tree had moved since she was last in it. Tina and I sat on desk chairs to watch TV in the evenings and ate off the card table that I had set up after Christmas. So inconvenient. But it worked.

As of this evening I can admire the nice, neat, clean and comfortable TV room, also known as the fireplace room. The craft room is slowly getting all the items returned to the shelves and the drawers in there. The living room is now uncluttered and welcoming to any guests as well as us. Sierra has no problem finding her kitty bed and her tree is right back where it belongs. The dining room still needs attention but that will be done slowly as Dillon has to return Sunday to finish repairing a spot on a wall where he had put up a peg board, then discovered that it had to come down because the shelves needed to go there. He only needs to sand it and paint it.

Tina had her procedure on Friday and she is fine. I had my ca scan and that is for my shoulder and is fine. All are good here. Live is good and I am tired, but happy.

Have a great rest of your Wednesday. Make it a pleasant, safe, energetic, productive ad fun day.

February 1, 2024 Sunny Cool Slight Breeze Pretty 54 Degrees 6:09 p.m.

A beautiful, Sunny Day. Sierra has laid in the sun as much as possible, soaking up the warmth and getting caught up on her vitamin D. The squirrel has been out, checking for seeds dropped by the birds, and working hard at gaining entrance into the bird feeders. So entertaining. He didn’t reach that goal. However, he did shake them and managed to get a few seeds on the ground.

I talked to Charlene this afternoon. She said that it was raining in Las Vegas. That should help the grass to grow and the flowers to bloom in Southern Nevada. The wild flowers are so pretty in the spring when they bloom. The weeds enjoy the water also so should be there in abundance this spring. The desert will be beautiful in all that color.

It is now 6:20 p.m. and our floor man still hasn’t showed up. He did text and said he would be late as he had a meeting. I am curious as to what kind of meeting? And, I wonder how late? Tina has an appointment at 7:30 a.m., so I hope it isn’t to late. If he calls and says he can’t make it tonight but will be here tomorrow night, I think he will be told to forget it. He has postponed, had many, many excuses as to why he can’t be here, etc. So, enough is enough. We said that it had to be done by last Saturday night, and that is five days past that. That shows me he has poor work habits, ethics, and time management. This was started in October, 2023 and it is now February 2024, so, Time’s up.

Now to get on with my blog and my evening. Here it is past dinner, Kentucky Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes, slaw and biscuits. The world news i s coming on, then a program and bed.

Wednesday, January 31, 2024 Cloudy Cold Damp 45 Degrees 5:01 p.m.

Today is Hump Day. It is the 31st day of the New Year, leaving 335 day to do all the things we want to do, plan to do, and have to do. This gives us plenty of time to do our Christmas shopping, plan our vacations, take weekend site seeing trips, make crafts for holidays, gifts and/or home needs. We’ll all have time to take classes in what ever subject interests us, and even find time to take naps, read book,s watch our favorite TV shows, take in movies, and do what ever else that is unplanned and unexpected.

Here, we are still at least 5 days out from having the TV room, back bathroom and craft room completed. I am thinking the month of February will be getting those rooms back together. Since I am the one who packed up most everything, put it all away so it wouldn’t get lost or broken, and made room for everything, I will most likely be the one who has to go treasure hunting and find everything. Maybe I should have a Treasure Hunting Party and invite others to fine everything. Of course, if I did that I would have to know what treasurers they were hunting. Both Tina and I will have to play that game, Keep, Give, Sell, Toss. I doubt the sell category would hold many items. Maybe I should add shred to that list.

February is promising to be a busy month. So far there are three birthdays and one anniversary, all family members. Tina and I each have a doctor’s appointment that I know of so far. I have two to reschedule due to bad weather. I am not sure what else is going on in the month of February. We have Ash Wednesday and Valentine’s Day and Presidents Day. We shall see what the rest of the month brings.

Have a great rest of your Wednesday. Make it a enchanting, magical, star studded and fun day.

Tuesday, January 30, 2024 Cloudy Chilly Still Rain expected 49 Degrees 5:14 [.m.

We did have sun for a bit this morning. The clouds slowly moved in and the sun moved out. Now we will have rain for the evening and maybe into the morning. Yes, it is still winter. I dislike the damp cold as it seems to settle int the bones and it takes for ever to get warm.

It has been a quiet day around here. I have gotten a few things done, and have a million more to do once I can get moved back into the craft room. I am going through boxes of stuff. I can’t believe all the stuff i have kept through the years. Even old adds. But some of the stuff has been interesting to read and think back on. I love finding the kids school work and pictures that they drew when they were little. So many letters and greeting cards, all fun and interesting. I have kept the shredder busy and filled the wastepaper basket a couple of times. Probably will several more times. I really don’t need the TV guide from 1989.

Quote of the day: ” Action is indeed the medium of expression for ethics.” Jane Addams, 1860 – 1935, American Social Reformer. Nobel Prize Winner. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people. Galatians 6:10 NIV

Have a great rest of your Taco Day. Make it a happy, educational, interesting and fun day.
